Brian,

There are 3 external InnoDB dev teams right now:
* google
* Yasufumi Kinoshita
* Percona

As you stated, neither google nor Yasufumi support end-users. Percona
does. Percona has integrated patches from google and Yasufumi and has
begun to do their own development.
