I saw those. It stops short of saying "we have forked, and this is our
release schedule".
Except for Drizzle, most others seem to be doing this in a tepid
manner. Our approach though, I mean by this Drizzle, is a bit more
radical obviously (and the Drizzle project has a different end game
goal then the main branches).
What I want to see though is folks to step up and execute if this is
their intentions. Right now there is a lot of "what is the plan" that
seems to be going on between all of the different MySQL branches.
We may just need to see what happens. The only person who can say
"this is the future" is the project lead, and that is Monty Widenius.
Until he comes out and says "this is it" then we are all left
scratching our heads. So far he seems to be silent as well. I am
personally left not knowing what the future is at the moment.
Oh well, this is all like playing fantasy football for me. I am really
a bystander to what is happening with the different mysql trees at
this point. When I fire up a few new databases in a couple of weeks
they will be using Drizzle.
Well, except for one piece of my current personal projects, it may be
using Hyper Table :)
