Hi!

It would be really nice to know more about the hardware we are targeting. For instance... if we know there is a huge trend moving to SSD we can shape solutions to work better for SSD (with some obvious tradeoff for disks). This also helps with setting defaults.

From a social stand point... if I develop an engine which is showing user growth I will be interested in doing more development on that engine.

How would you use this information? What questions are you looking to answer?

It sounds like YAGNI unless there's specific information you're looking for to answer certain questions.
