Just wanted to add that there are plenty of items that can done to help the Drizzle project besides hands on C++ development. For example:

   * Increase test coverage - there are several areas to improve upon,
the current coverage is at http://drizzle.org/lcov/. Plugins are
an area that could really use a good set of tests.
   * Documentation - The Drizzle wiki has a good start but we still
need a lot more details and examples for both the server and
client. Also try using some of the existing plugins and document a
     how-to-guide.
   * Upgrades - If you have any existing mysql databases it would be
interesting to try upgrading from MySQL to Drizzle and find where
the holes are. Also verify Drizzle upgrades from release to
release to make sure we are not breaking anything.
   * Install and use Drizzle and try to break it and file bugs
accordingly, the wiki has whats different about Drizzle from MySQL
     - http://drizzle.org/wiki/MySQL_Differences which can help as a
     guide to start with
   * Verify existing bugs, many bugs in the list need to be checked to
make sure they are still valid - https://bugs.launchpad.net/drizzle.
   * Benchmarks - we currently run several benchmarks as part of our
build process (sysbench, sqlbench, drizzleslap, dbt2, randgen).
Are there others we could add into the drizzle-automation framework?

Thanks, Lee

Thanks! I am considering going to that C++ training you linked a while back so I can dig more into Drizzle.

We should have a whole " I came here to learn more C++ so I can hack on drizzle" contingent..!!

What was the locale? .. somewhere sunny I hope.

As I sit here, waiting for MySQL to change a column name, I have time
to ask if Drizzle will allow me to change a column name ONLY without
rebuilding the whole table?
