We currently use dc.relation.uri to store links to external content. We
have created a custom theme to display this linked content in an embedded
viewer.

Here are some examples

   - Link to our university's streaming service:
   https://repository.library.georgetown.edu/handle/10822/1043750
   - Link to streaming service when dc.type = 'Audio':
   https://repository.library.georgetown.edu/handle/10822/1047956
   - Link to ArchivesSpace:
   https://repository.library.georgetown.edu/handle/10822/1047409
   - Link to Internet Archive:
   https://repository.library.georgetown.edu/handle/10822/1043064
   - Soon we will also use this to link to a IIIF image viewer

We run DSpace 5.8 with the Mirage2 theme. We have implemented the viewer
integrations in the Mirage2 XSLT.

We have a custom template in place for each viewer that we have integrated.
