We have found that a reason to get blank pages on XMLUI visualization is the presence of  non-UTF-8  characters in the metadata fields, usually caused for some cut&paste editing from original PDF (originated from LATEX, etc...) _OR _very large  fields   overflowing the length-limit for this kind of fields....

The dc.description.abstract field  is the "guilty" most of the times..

Try to acces the item via the JSPUI interface    OR via the ID (instead of the handle) and  EDIT the item via the administrative interface, and locate the probable cause of error

Best luck

Hi Colleagues,

When I open item that was submited on our dspace i get to blank page indicating that the item is submitted on ETD collection, but when i login and edit the item i can see item bitstrams and other metadata, when I use jspui interface without login i can see the item, only on xmlui on dspace 6.2 I cant see the item, I checked Item authorization to see if anonymous users have access and found that yes they can read the item, I am not sure what our submitters changed for this item to not be opening, please share with me solution on this problem. See attachment

Regards,
Lewatle
