Hi Carolyn,

Yes, we have 17,000 of them. We use Symplectic Elements to deposit into DSpace,
we used to have workflows in Elements where items being verified would have
documentary evidence uploaded but not deposited to the item, so they used to be
visible to the account user and admins at the Elements end but sat in a hidden
DSpace bucket, and with the move to RT2 they became largely invisible unless
you were actually logged in with the Elements deposit account – and then they
became visible under Administer Workflow in DSpace 7.

They are very much sitting in the too hard/not a priority basket right now.

Ngā mihi

Subject: [dspace-community] Thousands of items in 'Administer Workflow' -- How
is everyone dealing with this?

Hello,

When we migrated from DSpace 6.3 to DSpace 7.6.3 a year and a half ago, we
ended up with around 2500 items in the 'Administer Workflow' tab. I guess we
weren't the only people who had this happen. I was wondering how people are
dealing with them?

My understanding is that they're items that got stuck in processing limbo at
some point--maybe they were duplicate submissions or tests that no one bothered
to complete the workflow process on, or maybe the person who claimed them won
the lottery and couldn't finish the acceptance process. I think the only way
to actually deal with them and make sure none of those items should actually be
in the repository though would be to process them manually.

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Carolyn.
