Dear DSpace Developers,

I know we can use OAI-PMH to access collection/item Metadata outside of a
DSpace implementation.

Is there a way to also get bitstreams? (Either public or through
login/password, maybe even ip address authentication.)

Does SWORD do this? I know it allows you to submit information but I'm not
familiar enough with it to know if I can get bitstreams with it.

I'm looking at using Dspace as a digital archive (including photos and such)
and then using something else (probably Omeka) to sit on top of the archive
and create digital exhibits based on items stored in Dspace. I guess a
second question is, has anyone done anything like this?

Thank You

-Joseph
