Andrea Schweer updated DS-1035:
-------------------------------

    Comment: was deleted

(was: The page title has the same problem -- see
http://dspace.2283337.n4.nabble.com/xmlui-general-dspace-home-metadata-element-title-questions-tp3332634p3332634.html
 and

I had an off-list response to my post in one of the threads:

------------------------

This has to do with how the front page is assembled out of multiple pieces: the
news-xmlui.xml file, CommunityBrowser and FrontPageSearch.
The assembly process uses the first title and trail elements it comes to.

One solution is to insert the desired metadata elements into news-xmlui.xml by
changing

<pageMeta/>

to something like

<pageMeta>
<metadata element="title">DSpace Home</metadata>
<trail>DSpace Home</trail>
</pageMeta>

------------------------

Looks like a plausible explanation/solution to me but I haven't tried it out
yet.)

> Breadcrumb trail for "Home" is incorrect (XMLUI, Mirage Theme)

>          Issue Type: Bug
>          Components: XMLUI
>    Affects Versions: 1.7.0, 1.7.1, 1.7.2, 1.8.0
>            Reporter: Tim Donohue
>             Fix For: 1.8.0

>
> This was reported in UserVoice during the 1.8 Testathon:
> http://duraspace.uservoice.com/forums/84583-dspace-1-8-feedback/suggestions/2261589-breadcrumb-label-for-home-is-incorrect?ref=title
> The breadcrumb trail that appears after going "Home" is "DSpace Home -->
> Community List". That is identical to the breadcrumb trail that appears when
> on the "Communities in DSpace" page. Even though the home page includes a
> community list, the breadcrumb should just be "DSpace Home" and the node
> should not be active.
> This needs a volunteer to investigate & fix.
