I applied the latest MetadataImport.java.patch to git HEAD without any problem.
But I couldn't build it, because it asked for DSpaceCSV, so I also applied the
old DSpaceCSV.java.patch from November. Here's the patch, modified to apply
cleanly:

Then I was able to build, run and import a testing item successfully.
But then something strange happened, because I now keep getting "There were no
changes detected" both
1) when I have authority and confidence in DSpace and I try to metadata-import
it without; and
2) when I don't have authority and confidence in DSpace and I try to
metadata-import it with it
I tried both cases by editing the authority and confidence columns in
metadatavalue table and re-indexing. Perhaps there's something wrong in my
configuration?
