Hi Developers / Committers, As discussed at the OR12 face-to-face Developers Meeting, the DCAT (DSpace Community Advisory Team) would like to join our IRC Developer meetings once per month.
Namely, DCAT members would like us to set aside 15 minutes of time during this meeting, to tackle or discuss a topic that is of interest to both of our groups. Here's a small summary of how this may work: * Once per month, DCAT members would join our DSpace Developer meeting for (at least) the first 15 minutes. * DCAT would join our meeting on the Weds *after* their monthly Tues meeting (first date: Weds, Sept 5). The DCAT meeting schedule is detailed at: https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/cmtygp/DCAT+Meeting+Notes * The DCAT topic to be discussed would be determined by DCAT, and will be sent out as part of our DSpace Developer Meeting Agenda. * Usually, we utilize the first 15 minutes of our Developer Meeting for a JIRA review. However, on dates that DCAT joins our meeting we will forgo our JIRA review and instead discuss the topic(s) that DCAT would like to bring before us (oftentimes it may be a specific JIRA ticket anyways). Essentially the goal here is to provide a monthly opportunity for DCAT and the Developers to touch base, collaborate and discuss topics / features of great interest to DCAT and repository managers in general. If you have any comments/suggestions/concerns, please feel free to let me know. Again, the first date that this will occur is at our DSpace Developer Meeting on Weds, Sept 5. Obviously, as this is a new concept, we may need to be flexible early on in determining what works best for all involved. So, if ideas for improvements come up, definitely let me know! - Tim -- Tim Donohue Technical Lead for DSpace Project DuraSpace.org ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond.
