Thanks, helix84, for your prompt response. But what you suggested are more
complicated and time-consuming to implement.
Importing bitstreams won't be an issue. Once they are in DSpace, I can define
which one is the primary bitstream and sort according to our needs. The primary
bitstream is meant to tell DSpace where to start shorting. Or I don't have to
define the primary bitstream at all and just sort by the file name.
The key is to have a sorting function for bitstreams within an item. That will
allow all our staff to handle the bitstream sorting, rather than relying on a
couple of people whole knows sql.
