Hi Mark,
are you able to make this changes today or should we go with the actual solution and treat this last improvement as a bug fix?
A good name for the output jar should be handle-dspaceremotes-connector.jar as it is really a library for the handle system and not for dspace.
Please note that the same apply to the standard DSpaceHandlePlugin but as a local handle server run with the same classpath of DSpace it is simpler for that embed this class in dspace-api

For security reasons we want to run the handle server and the application container on separate machines. This would even be helpful for institutions running multiple DSpace instances as they would need one handle server only for all instances.
We want the HandlePlugin to connect to a DSpace instance over http(s) instead of using the HandleManager dire...
