Currently, when building from RC1 or Master and deploying through IntelliJ IDEA, not the standard webapps folder, we are seeing behaviour where parameters wouldn't be appropriately filtered i.e. the web.xml for SOLR contains unfiltered parameters. As an illustration, I attached both the web.xml files, the one from my target folder and the one from webapps. Ideally they should be the same but you see at the bottom that only the one from webapps contains the properly filtered path. This problem should only affect developers who load the webapps straight from the target folders, still it should be worth addressing. When launching tomcat, this manifests in logs like: log4j:ERROR Ignoring configuration file [file:/Users/bram/Development/Tomcats/apache-tomcat-7.0.40/bin/$%7Bdspace.dir%7D/config/log4j-solr.properties]. It seems to depend from the Tomcat version how severe this error manifests: Tomcat 5 doesn't want to boot DSpace, while Tomcat 7 does.
