Re-opening this ticket. I think there's been a misunderstanding.
This ticket was not asking for the "View More" Recent Submissions to be made configurable (which it looks like it is). Rather, it was asking to change the default setting from just 5 to something more reasonable (like 20).
All our other browse-by options (Date, Subject, Title, Author) show results in sets of 20 at a time. It's frustrating to only see recent submissions 5 at a time.
In addition, I'm told by Google Scholar folks that they *may* use this new "View More" link as a way to locate recently added documents in a DSpace installation. If the Google Scholar bots only can retrieve 5 new items at a time, this will result in a potentially large number of hits from Google Scholar during their indexing. This is a second reason why 5 results at a time by default is likely not sufficient.
