The basic problem here seems to be that when browsing items by author (ie: a 'second level' browse) any text entered into the 'starts with' text box seems to *filter* these results.
For example, click on Browse->Authors and from these results click on a particular author's name. Say there are 10 items by this author. Now enter some text in the box, and hit 'Go'. The new results seem to be empty, with the message 'Now showing items 1-0 of 10'.
May be related to DS-945?
