I think it's too late for 3.x unless there's going to be a 3.3, I was just surprised it wasn't included in 3.2, since it affected both 3.1 and 4.0. Seeing there's work to replace auth anyway, I'll try and avoid spending too much time tidying up the current stuff, but if I encounter more issues or get too irritated by those loops, I might just do it for the Shib plugin anyway ;) Closing again. The code in org.dspace.authenticate.ShibAuthentication.findMultipleHeaders does not correctly handle such values, due to a minor logic error.
