Hello all! In new DSpace installations we have been requested to implement a new functionality in order to set the license per bitstream and not per item. Thus, a user can upload two or more bitstreams and set different licenses for each one of them (e.g. cc-by-sa-4.0 for one and cc-by-nc-4.0 for the other). Until now we created a new metadata field and set all the creative commons licenses as paired values in input forms. I was wondering what is your input on this matter. I am not concerned how to implement it technically, rather than if it is better for the user to license per bitstream? Is it generally more applicable in the community of repositories to apply licenses in the file and not the item? Thank you in advance, Rania
