When upgrading a DSpace (with oracle) with an original database from before DSpace 3 the discoverable column hasn't doesn't get a default.
In DSpace 3 this causes no issues, but in DSpace 4 there is a filter query present that ensures that the value is not false: "NOT(discoverable:false)".
If the column is null in the database false will be indexed and because of this no items are returned for discovery.
