The "manifestOnly" option for the packager command, used to disseminate METS or AIP packages, does not appear to work. The package command always appears to produce full zip files. The manifestOnly option would be useful to have, especially if you wish to create a "realistic" development workspace, but don't need or intend to create a complete restoration of an existing repository, it would be nice to have a light-weight option available. The "manifestOnly" option looked applicable for that use case, but it does not appear to work at all. I have tried both a full AIP export of a live repository:
bin/dspace packager -d -a -t AIP -o manifestOnly -e ad...@a-real-domain.edu -i 12345/0 /path/to/aip-backup/manifest_only/s...@12345-0.zip (note, this produces a set of full AIPs, so if you care to run it, be sure you have disk space available to accommodate it)
as well as a single item export, using both the AIP and METS disseminator:
bin/dspace packager -d -t AIP -o manifestOnly -e ad...@a-real-domain.edu -i 12345/99 /home/dspace/tmp/i...@12345-99.zip
bin/dspace packager -d -t METS -o manifestOnly -e adming admin @a-real-domain.edu -i 12345/99 /home/dspace/tmp/12345-99-mets.xml
both of these commands produce zip files, they appear to be AIPs.
