Hi Fatima, I'm shooting in the dark here, but this may be due to text directionality. PDFs my be indexed left-to-right and you're trying to search right-to-left (or, possibly, vice versa). This would likely happen only with PDFs. What about regular text files? Are you able to search those correctly after they're indexed?
Also, this all assumes that you ran filter-media. If you didn't the fulltexts aren't indexed yet and you'd be only searching in metadata.
