There is a request on a similar issue but unfortunately has been in waiting mode for a while now. see ticket, Add metadata export for community and collection managers https://jira.duraspace.org/browse/DS-1046. Maybe it could be re-visited again by DSpace committers, if anyone out there has the energy/time to work on it?

Hi Hilton,

Thanks for the suggestion, but it doesn't seem to address my issue. Administrators have access to a tool in DSpace that lets them export collection metadata and then re-import it after it's been edited. My people here want to be able to extend that functionality to existing community and collection admins, and by default to new community and collection admins when an eperson is assigned one of those roles. I can't see anything in the configuration settings that will allow it to be done. Do you know of anything?

Thanks,

-Steve

        Greetings,

I'm very new to an old DSpace setup, using version 1.8. I've
been asked to make a change to the system that would allow a
system administrator to give a collection manager the
permissions to export/import item metadata to/from .csv
files. Is there a simple setting someplace that can be
changed to let this happen automatically when the user is
assigned the admin role in a collection? Is there a way to do
it after a user is already in the system?

        Thanks,

        -Steve
