Hi Ally, By default the DSpace rest api redirects all requests to https (for security reasons). In order to prevent this behavior you will need to alter the web.xml from the rest-api.
https://github.com/DSpace/DSpace/blob/master/dspace-rest/src/main/webapp/WEB-INF/web.xml#L52 The url above displays the configuration that manages this behavior, change the "CONFIDENTIAL" string to "NONE", rebuild and the issue should be gone. Hope this helps, Kind regards, [image: logo] Kevin Van de Velde *@mire* *250-B Suite 3A, Lucius Gordon Drive, West Henrietta, NY 14586* *Esperantolaan 4, Heverlee 3001, Belgium* www.atmire.com <http://atmire.com/website/?q=services&utm_source=emailfooter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=kevinvdv> On 14 January 2016 at 12:10, ally bitebo <[email protected]> wrote: > Hello All, > > I am trying to configure and install REST api on my dspace server I found > the following error on accessing localhost:8080/rest/ > > First after loading it changes to localhost:8443/rest/ and wrote This > webpage is not available -- ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED > > I am requesting someone to help me to fix this problem please. > > Regards > > Ally > > -- > You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups > "DSpace Technical Support" group. > To unsubscribe from this group and stop receiving emails from it, send an > email to [email protected]. > To post to this group, send email to [email protected]. > Visit this group at https://groups.google.com/group/dspace-tech. > For more options, visit https://groups.google.com/d/optout. > -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "DSpace Technical Support" group.
