as the owning_collection was not changed, this was what made me think of
mapping.
In that case you would have at least 2 collection appearing on the items
landing page under "Appears in Collections".
You wrote there is nothing in the logs, there should be something like

Did a couple of tests on a 6.x instance, but did not encounter this
behaviour.
Is there anything "special" about the 6 items not correctly moved,
mapped, under embargo, versionend ....?
