I've had the same problem here, it seens that DSpace has changed some things

I used to use authentication-ldap.search.user = 
uid=username,ou=People,o=uft,dc=edu,dc=br
but it seens that now i've to use like 

authentication-ldap.search.user = uid=username\,ou=People\,o=uft\,dc=edu\,dc=br

I don't know why, but it works now for me!
