You'll notice various notes there on versions of Tomcat or similar to avoid (and why to avoid them). Generally, I agree that you should look towards OpenJDK 1.8 (Java 8), and either Tomcat 7 or 8 (either will work fine). You must have PostgreSQL 9.4 or above (10.x works fine too), with pgcrypto installed.
