Hello everyone,

I have a DSpace 6.3 installed on a linux machine, using tomcat 9, jre 1.8,
ant 1.10 and maven 3.3.9.

Any file I try to upload when submitting an Item to a Collection results in
the following error:
java.io.IOException: No such file or directory at
java.io.UnixFileSystem.createFileExclusively(Native Method) at
java.io.File.createNewFile(File.java:1014) at
org.dspace.storage.bitstore.DSBitStoreService.put(DSBitStoreService.java:125)
at
org.dspace.storage.bitstore.BitstreamStorageServiceImpl.store(BitstreamStorageServiceImpl.java:107).....(stack

trace abbreviated)

Now, I have read the solutions proposed in similar postings, but none of
them worked. In particular, I ensured that the tomcat service runs as the
"tomcat" user, and that the owner of the [dspace] and [dspace-source]
directories (and all subdirectories) is also the "tomcat" user, and
obviously that those directories are writable. These were all verified by
"ls -l" and "ps -u tomcat".

In addition, my assetstore.dir value is {dspace.dir}/assetstore in both
local.cfg and dspace.cfg. I made sure this directory exists and that it is
owned (and writable) by the "tomcat" user.

The problem still persists however. Is there any possible
explanation/solution to this?
