I am facing an issue when trying to configure an *Item Template* for a collection in DSpace. When I try to edit the collection’s *template* and add metadata, no metadata list appears for me to choose from. This is preventing me from creating a template with default values for new items submitted to the collection.
I have checked my admin permissions and tried several approaches, but the metadata fields still do not appear for selection. The DSpace documentation mentions the use of *Item Template* to set default values that will be automatically applied to new items, but I couldn’t find any information on what might be causing the absence of the metadata list. I would like to know if anyone in the community has encountered this issue or if there is any additional configuration needed, either in the *dspace.cfg* file or elsewhere in the system, to make the metadata fields show up when trying to configure the *Item Template*.
