I noticed you also asked this question in a GitHub Ticket.  I've answered 
it in that ticket and closed the ticket.

Basically, this is expected behavior in DSpace 8.0 if the user doesn't have 
their email set to "public" or "shared with third parties" in their ORCID 
account.
