Hi Tim,

Sorry, it took me so long to reply. 
I fixed my problem now.  I went with your first option - modified 
SubmitServlet to skip that initial questions screen. I also had to make 
changes in edit-metadata.jsp (removed "Previous" button on step 1 
screen) and progressbar.jsp( removed link to initial questions screen).
