Dear Readers,

DSpace (1.4) -- or is it Lucene? -- appears unable to adequately
process search terms with diacritics or accents. In particular `Sorting
by Title' and `Return to Browse by Subject' consistently fail for any
search terms containing diacritics. I have a page on Indica et
Buddhica's CMS providing three screenshots of this issue. Please click
on the image for the big picture:

Is there anything that can be done to resolve this problem. For those
of us with multilingual records -- and increasingly there will be a
great many of us -- this is a significant deficiency.

Best regards,

 Richard Mahoney
