Hello all,

Yesterday, I made changes in dspace.cfg to enable statistics. I also
recently set Tomcat up to run SSL, but I've commented out the settings
as we don't have the port turned on. Pretty easy stuff. I haven't
touched my ldap settings as I successfully set that up weeks ago. Our
university manages the ldap server and apparently they haven't changed
anything on their end. However...

I started receiving the following messages in my dspace log today:

2007-04-17 15:29:25,244 WARN org.dspace.app.webui.servlet.LDAPServlet @
anonymous:session_id=7EFF45148568493C0EB81D2E82FDCF62:ip_addr=128.172.144.44:ldap_authentication:type=failed_auth

javax.naming.AuthenticationException: [LDAP: error code 49 - NDS error:
failed authentication (-669)]

2007-04-17 15:29:25,245 INFO org.dspace.app.webui.servlet.LDAPServlet @
anonymous:session_id=7EFF45148568493C0EB81D2E82FDCF62:ip_addr=128.172.144.44:failed_login:netid=seteague

Clearly we can't authenticate with the ldap server....Can anyone point
me in the right direction? I saw a few entries in the Dspace-tech
archives where others had similar issues with Dspace and LDAP, however,
I didn't see any resolutions.

Thanks in advance,

Cheers,
Susan
