Larry: What'd like to do is just validate that the extension of the bitstreams submitted during an item deposit correspond to the actual format(s) of the files using the output of jhove. Now, I don't know how difficult this will be, and if you are working on it, and it's going to be coming out in 6 months, then perhaps my time would be better spent doing something else.
So, what do you think about this. Do you see this sort of functionality realistically being available in the near future ( version 1.5, perhaps? ), or is what I want to do not that difficult, and only a small subset of what you're working on, so why not just do it?
