Hi,

I'm not sure if that's the place to ask, but maybe someone has a clue.
Basically I decided to install and make available to my DSpace
environment the Apache Portable Runtime library which should improve the
overall performance of Tomcat. Well, it all works out, with the except
of a very weird side-effect: now all IP numbers are logged as a pseudo
Mac address (possibly garbage). For example, all log lines are coming
like this:

2007-07-03 17:46:06,391 INFO
org.dspace.app.webui.servlet.RetrieveServlet @
anonymous:session_id=E3722495A306C2815DE30E21DC9045C3:ip_addr=3cbf:d0cc:
60:5ed6:::view_bitstream:bitstream_id=12922

The mere uninstall of APR make the IP return to normal. Someone have an
idea of what could be happening? Should I just stay out of APR?

Regards,

Afonso
