Hello,
If you have metadata (title, author, ABSTRACT, date, department, rights)
stored in an Excel sheet and want to import metadata and corresponding
record/file into DSpace, we have an improved version of our program to
share. Please feel free to contact me if you want to use this for batch
importing items into DSpace. Recently we used this for our test import
of items at http://repository.ntu.edu.sg/
Advantages:-
(1) It generates sequential names to metadata folders corresponding
to records in the excel sheet. It would be easy to identify and rectify
errors incase the import halts at some special characters.
(2) A general set of metadata can be defined and those not required
can be left blank in the excel sheet.
Cheers!
Jayan
