Hi
I am trying to test dspace . I have successfully installed Dspace , thanks
to the clear documentation .
Now I want to test by creating , Community ,Collection, Items
I did few entry and submitted
On submission I got a reply from my dspace server
like
"Your submission has been accepted and archived in DSpace,
and it has been assigned the following identifier:
http://hdl.handle.net/123456789/14";
From the manual I found out that
"DSpace uses Handles primarily as a means of assigning globally unique
identifiers to objects. Each site running DSpace needs to obtain a Handle
'prefix' from CNRI"
What if I want to test and deploy it Locally and I do have internet
connectivity always . In this case what should I do for the hdl.handle.net
I use dspace 1.5.0 on Ubuntu 7.10
