Hello, I have a problem - don't want a handle server, don't need a handle server, would never get $50 to register a handle, etc., etc.
So, how can I completely sanitize DSpace 1.5 (xmlui) of handle.net URIs and replace them with local URLs? Haven't found a way - is it hadrcoded? Why? How's it an aid to "digital preservation" if I can't even change which handle provider to use? Please help - this issue is the only thing that stops me from rolling out DSpace and if you ever tried to explain to the user why URI doesn't work then he/she clicks it - you know what a huge issue this is.
