Are you running PostgreSQL? In which case the pg_dump command is all you need. Run it on a regular schedule with a user with sufficient access privileges, eg. pg_dump --format t yourdspacedbname > databasedump.2009-02-20.sql That gives you a DB dump you can just "slurp" back in in future and will be enough in almost all cases.
