We have noticed with our DSpace 1.5.1 instance that when we permanently delete an item, it breaks the ability of Dspace to add items to the browse indexes. A restart of tomcat fixes the issue, until you delete another item which breaks it from working again. I know they kept the delete routine separate from the event modules for a reason. It almost seems like some pointer is not getting reset for the browse indexes after a delete?
