Hi Sue,

Unfortunately I suspect that this issue would be best dealt with on a
Ubuntu forum. The LiveCD is now almost a year old, so isn't the most up
to date version of Ubuntu. It may be possible to upgrade network drivers
on a LiveCD, but these would be lost each time you rebooted.

We're hoping to build a LiveCD for the release candidate of version 1.6
in a few months time, and that will use a later version of Ubuntu (or
other distribution) so hopefully that will work when it is released.

Sorry I can't be much help,

You are correct that I'm referring to the Live CD below.

I have a tried this on my PC and the network was ready and I was able to
get to the internet.

But on another PC the network connection was not detected. She is
using a new Dell E6500 laptop and we wonder if the unbuntu does not know
the network driver. What are your thoughts?

Thanks,

Hi Sue,

What sort of driver do you need? On most machines the live CD 'just
works' and connects to the network etc.

(I presume you're referring to this live cd?

Hello,

We have the dspace live CD to use for learning and playing.

Where do I find a ubuntu driver to go along with this?

Thanks,
