I wonder if anybody has done this, and would be willing to give me a
shove in the right direction. Alternatively, if it can't be done,
please would someone put me out of my misery by telling me so.

I have a server with an existing site and I want to add a dspace site
to it. To complicate matters I want the dspace site proxied so that:

http://www.site.ac.za/ -> /var/www/
http://dspace.site.ac.za -> /var/www/dspace -> proxy -> /dspace (or
something like that)

I can see how I might do this by accessing port for dspace, but I
can't figure out how to get the proxy stuff to do its thing without
interfering with the default site.

What I have so far is:

cat /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/dspace

<VirtualHost xxx.xxx.xxx.47>
ServerName dspace.site.ac.za
ServerAlias dspace.site.ac.za
DocumentRoot /var/www/dspace
</VirtualHost>

But that only gets me to the empty directory.

And if I add:

        ProxyPass  /dspace  ajp://localhost:8009/
        ProxyPassReverse  /dspace  ajp://localhost:8009/

to my mods-enabled/proxy.conf, I need to add '/dspace' to the URL.

Any ideas?
