Yes, I was thinking of doing that. I've already specified the IP
address for the new virtual host, so I think I just need to specify an
IP address for the default virtual host. That is, change:
NameVirtualHost *
<VirtualHost *>
to
NameVirtualHost xxx.xxx.xxx.14:80
<VirtualHost xxx.xxx.xxx.14:80>
in sites-enabled/000-default and I already have:
<VirtualHost xxx.xxx.xxx.47>
in sites-enabled/dspace. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to specify the
port number there too.

How would I do that? I'm using proxy.conf in mods-enabled/proxy.conf,
which has lines like the following, which seem to act for all servers:
ProxyPass / ajp://localhost:8009/
ProxyPassReverse / ajp://localhost:8009/
