Hi all,

I'm very confused about the whole OAI crosswalk thing.

I've created a new crosswalk class but don't know what metadataPrefix to
use. It's for disseminating DC to the Australian Digital Theses project,
and some of the fields used are different to other DC disseminations we
want to have setup. I invented a metadataPrefix oai_adt but of course
there's no schema etc for this so the ADT people have complained ("Will
you be changing it to oai_dc?"). The reason I did this is because I want
two (or maybe more) different DC crosswalks to exist
(metadataPrefix=oai_dc) but I couldn't see how to specify which one
would run without giving them different metadataPrefixes (configuration
in oaicat.properties).

The crosswalk as it stands with oai_adt as the metadataPrefix (and
imaginary schema references like
"http://www.openarchives.org/OAI/2.0/oai_adt.xsd";) works, and I can
easily differentiate it from other crosswalks in oaicat.properties using
the oai_adt metadataPrefix, but I guess it's kind of dodgy to do that?

Am I making myself clear? I want to know how what I should do to get
around this. Do I need to know about CrosswalkPlugins - I've read the
wiki but it just made me feel more lost. I hope someone can bring some
clarity to this for me.

Thanks a lot.
Gary
