Since it's in JIRA, news should be found there if there is any. If you are interested in a particular JIRA issue, you can set JIRA to "watch" it and email you when there are updates. You can also vote for issues that are important to you -- the number of votes for an issue helps to attract attention and influence priorities. I don't mean to discourage simply asking about issues that are important to you, only to point out some other methods available to you.
