Hey Tim, yes you can assign it to me.
I'll fill out the ticket, but a brief status update. We're currently busy with
our 1.6 upgrade, but chasing a bug in the Google Scholar SEO code is priority
immediately after we deploy, which should be very soon. I expect that once I
can make the code available, we will have a discussion in the community about
what the most wise defaults will be for a generic deployment of the feature.

I believe MIT is still working on that feature. Perhaps Richard Rodgers
or Sands Fish from MIT can update that JIRA issue with the latest details.
Mark is also correct in stating that the oftentimes best way to get more
information about that issue is to "watch" it in JIRA. But, it's also
good that you've followed up so that we can make sure this is assigned
to whomever is working on it.
Sands or Richard -- should we assign this issue to one of you?

Do you have news about development of the patch to provide metatags used

Since it's in JIRA, news should be found there if there is any.
If you are interested in a particular JIRA issue, you can set JIRA to
"watch" it and email you when there are updates. You can also vote
for issues that are important to you -- the number of votes for an
issue helps to attract attention and influence priorities.
I don't mean to discourage simply asking about issues that are
important to you, only to point out some other methods available to
you.
Developers: would someone associated with the work in progress accept
assignment of the issue, so we have a direct point of contact.
