Thanks for confirming that Richard. You understand me correctly.

We place electronic theses and dissertations in our DSpace instance. We begin 
our submission process for ETDs with UMI/Proquest. I was planning on creating a 
program to batch process dissertations that UMI sends to us via FTP. I just 
wanted to make sure that we would be able to automate processing our embargoed 
dissertations as well.

Hi Jason:

Unless I'm misunderstanding what 'during' means here - you can. Just make sure 
the item metadata for everything in the batch includes whatever field you 
configured for
embargo.field.terms and has a valid value. It will be embargoed as it is 
installed into the repository, just like if it had been submitted via the web 
UI.
