That's probably because the code that's trying to parse this as a date encounters an error and the error isn't handled terribly well. You may be able to see an error message in the dspace.log file; if you spot anything that looks relevant and can post it to the list then you may have a better chance for someone to provide a patch for this. > I can see where if someone uploaded a batch file with “badly > formatted” dc.date.issued, it would be difficult to figure out what > records are bad since they don’t display and mess up the search and > browse displays that they appear in. > > So, does anyone have any ideas what to do about this? You could export the metadata for the items' collection, fix the dates and then re-import the metadata. In the long run it would probably be good if the metadata importer did a check that the date values can be parsed -- though that raises the issue of telling DSpace which metadata fields are date fields... cheers, Andrea -- Andrea Schweer IRR Technical Specialist, ITS Information Systems The University of Waikato, Hamilton, New Zealand ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WhatsUp Gold - Download Free Network Management Software The most intuitive, comprehensive, and cost-effective network management toolset available today.
