Hi, Peter,

Regarding the github DSpace repository... I tried to merge the *dspace-1.7.2* tag into a local branch for testing, and on building I saw that the maven packaging had prepared a 1.7.3-SNAPSHOT target. Sure enough, the dspace-1.7.2 tag points at the "_prepare for next development iteration_" commit:

https://github.com/DSpace/DSpace/commit/11ea8157f6be31e15f0e98286330b8fa8e46859d

I think you missed the commit by one? :) For reference, here's the commit just before the above one (1.7.2-SNAPSHOT -> 1.7.2):

https://github.com/DSpace/DSpace/commit/35457fb1053ccdc53884d1f7536e029fa554a114

Thanks for maintaining the github repository, by the way. I find git / github a fantastic way to work!

Cheers,

Alan

Hello DSpace Community,

We have a new bug-fix release of DSpace 1.7 available: DSpace 1.7.2

This small bug fix release addresses three issues that have cropped up since 1.7.1.

    * DS-841 <https://jira.duraspace.org/browse/DS-841> Fixed Oracle
      database support for administrative tasks on ePerson.
    * DS-875 <https://jira.duraspace.org/browse/DS-875> Fixed an error
      message from being spit out when using the DSpace CLI Launcher.
    * DS-871 <https://jira.duraspace.org/browse/DS-871> Fixed a
      caching issue in "Recent Submissions" listing for XMLUI.

Upgrading to 1.7.2 is optional since it is a small bug fix release, but issues addressed have been mentioned by members of the community that they are important for them to be resolved.

We'd like to thank the community for continuing for using, testing, and providing feedback to the developers. A special thanks goes out to Hardy Pottinger of University of Missouri Library Systems for testing and providing patches for the XMLUI and Oracles issues. Additionally Kevin Van de Velde and Mark Diggory from @Mire <http://atmire.com> have worked together to fix the launcher script.
