Helix84,
The original source files for the modified 1.5.2 are here
https://github.com/edina-jorum/Jorum-DSpace.
We are nearly finished porting (most) of these mods to the 1.8.2
codebase and then will be doing further work over the next three months to tidy
up the code and do some refactoring.
The final codebase will be made available on GitHub though I will have
to check what the exact license will be (it will be open source but I do not
know if our funders specify a particular license).
I am sure that the source code can be made available under a license
that will allow inclusion within Dspace as the improvements made to the READ
side of the REST API have been made publicly available and we would wish to do
the same with these modifications.
Most of the refactoring will be to ensure that Jorum specific
modifications (those that are probably not that useful to the wider community)
are implemented per the modular architecture of 1.8 and that modifications
useful to the wider community e.g. IMS/SCORM package support are easy to
implement separately.
We have a new developer in post soon who will be taking on this work
(so look for lots of questions that I can't answer in the next month or two)
and I we are working to a target of end of year to get this work done.
Regards,
Ben

Subject: Re: [Dspace-tech] Choosing DSpace
Hi Ben,
I'm only vaguely familiar with Jorum. Are the sources of your improvements to
DSpace available under the Apache license so that they could be possibly
included directly in DSpace?
