Paul, it would be best if you used the time before the release to coordinate with people participating in that ticket's discussion and were able to agree upon a common implementation (because there seem to be 4, including yours). That would be much much easier to accept. I think the people from the RCAAP project are definitely worth getting in touch with because they have a large number of participating repositories. I don't know about the Germans and Belgians.
